About Saraura

We dress the occasion, not the season.

An occasion dress is worn a handful of times and remembered for years. Everything here follows from that.

Saraura is a small house of occasion and evening wear — dresses, sets and co-ords, skirts, outerwear and wedding dresses. We trade from Bologna, sell in English and price in euro.

Occasion wear is bought differently

Most clothes are bought for a season. Occasion wear is bought for a date — one that is already in the diary, often months ahead, and one you cannot get wrong. You are not browsing. You are solving a specific evening, at a specific length, in a specific colour, by a specific week.

That changes what a shop owes you. It is not enough to show a piece beautifully photographed and leave you to guess. You need to know what it measures, whether it is still in stock in your size, what it is made of, when it will leave, and what happens if it arrives and it is wrong.

What this site tells you before you buy

  • Measurements for every size — shoulder, bust, waist, hip, sleeve and length, in centimetres and in inches, on every product page.
  • What the piece is made of, in the fibre percentages given to us, and how to care for it.
  • What is actually left — stock is shown per size and per colour, not as a vague "in stock".
  • How long it really takes — dispatched in three to four days, then six to twelve working days in transit. Two to three weeks in all, said plainly rather than buried.
  • What it costs to send — €12,90 anywhere we ship, free over €120, shown before you pay and never added at the end.

Where something is not settled, we leave it out rather than guess at it. A shop that invents a delivery date to look decisive is only moving the disappointment further down the line.

A short edit, on purpose

There is no advantage to you in a catalogue of two thousand dresses. The edit here is deliberately short: pieces that hold their shape through a long evening, that photograph honestly, and that will still look considered the second and third time you wear them. If a piece would only survive one night, it does not belong in a wardrobe you are building.

Writing to us

There is one address and a person reads it: sarauraofficial@gmail.com. If it is about an order, put the order number in the first line and you will get a faster answer.

If you are choosing for a fixed date, say the date. We would rather tell you honestly that something is tight than take the order and hope.

Plainly

Three things we have not told you.

Where each piece is made

Not published. We trade from Italy — that is a fact about us, not about a factory, and we are not going to let the two blur into each other.

The mills, and the certificates

Composition is published on a piece's own page where it has been checked. The mills are not, and will not be until a name is on a contract rather than in a conversation.

How long a parcel takes to arrive

Dispatch is three to four days and every order is tracked. What happens after that is the carrier's. We would rather hand you the tracking link than a number we invented.

Most shops would fill those three lines with something warm. We would rather you could trust the fourth line, and the fortieth.

The collection

The rest of it is in the clothes.
